The only parameter that I think flip flops would be appropriate to the actual marriage is a casual beach wedding.

If your wedding on a beach so flip flops are ideal. i wouldnt recommend if your wedding in a hotel or a church, so flip flops are fragile and if you walk on stones, so it will go right in your shoe. so everyone around you is wearing shoes which means your toes could get hurt! Also, if you went in a floor length dress posh / dressy you wouldnt think its ok to wear flip-flops, so why now for your wedding?

I wore 4 inch heels on the sand in Hawaii. Unless you're supermodel tall, I can not imagine why you want to wear thongs. You do not say. Is your fiance shorter than you? Did you wear these after the ceremony? Did you just not wear heels? If so a beach wedding, then yes I get it.

Since I live in Florida, a beach wedding are very popular, and yes, I have seen brides in white tea length dress and flip flops.

I think it's a cute idea. I was wearing heels, then turned into flip flops for receptiong. I do not recommend wearing heels! They hurt my feet, and throughout the ceremony I wanted, I did not have them covered! I think it's cute when the bride wears thongs!

They are cute, but only wear for receipt of your dress is long, but honestly, I really do not think they should be worn for real marriage.
