Cv Joint Replacement

I have a 1988 Ford Tempo, I recently replaced the water pump. Now, the driver's side front CV joint as gone.

My steering wheel vibrates in a leftward movement popping, even if just to take a curve.

Does anyone know a ballpark figure, I'm looking to replace it? I would also like to know what, exactly, a CV joint is considered, or what system of the car it's in.

The CV joint for this car is about $ 50 or $ 60. It's just the game. If you have any mechanical knowledge, it is not too difficult to replace you.
