Structure of the skin
It is essential to know the structure of the skin before analyzing the causes which make changes on the skin. The skin is made up of several layers of epithelial tissuess. microscopic section of skin shows two distinct parts. Skin is the highest peak layer. The top layer of the epidermis contains dead cells which gradually casting off. These cells are gradually replaced by fresh new cells produced by basal layer which is the lowest layer of the epidermis.
The dermis lies beneath the epidermis and consists of networking of collagen fibers is responsible for elastic properties of skin. The sebaceous glands associated with hair follicles and sweat glands, are all present in the dermis and get blood supply from subcutaneous tissue present below dermis. The sebaceous glands are activated during puberty and produce an oil like substance called sebum.
In Ayurveda according Sushrutaachaarya skin has seven layers. The coats when affected by imbalanced doshas (vital energetic forces of body) give rise to various skin diseases. The list of seven layers of skin diseases that come from them are as follows.
Avabhasini-The outermost layer of skin. Pimples, acne, dandruff, etc. occur when this layer is affected by vitiated doshas.
Lohita - This is the second layer of skin. Moles, dark circles, dark pigmentations occur when vitiated doshas affect this layer.
Shweta - the third layer of the skin when gets vitiated doshas shweta affected by precipitates disease like eczema, rashes, allergies, etc.
Tamra - This is the fourth layer of the skin which when affected by doshas harbors different types of leprosy.
Vedini-The fifth layer succumbs to herpes when vitiated doshas affect.
Rohini-Harbors cancer, tumors, elephantiasis etc when affected by vitiated doshas.
Mamsadhara - This is the seventh layer in the body which when affected by vitiated doshas, abscess, fistula occur.
Functions of the skin
It covers and protects the underlying muscles and organs. He gaurds the body of invading pathogens, acts as an insulator, regulates body temperature and is one of the sense organs. It palys a major role in Sysnthesis of Vitamin D. The melanin in the skin protects us from UV radiation from the Sun.
What spoils the beauty of the skin.?
Several internal and external causes harm to the beauty of the skin.
Sun: Sun is the worst enemy of good sun block skin.Apply on exposed parts of the body. Wear cotton clothes armed Lite color when you move to the sun. Remember to wear a hat and glasses cooling.

The seasonal changes:
